Tripoli – The political movements of the former Libyan ambassador to the UAE, Aref Nayed, have increased in recent times, which opens the door to speculation whether he will be a party to the new executive authority, especially since his name has been repeatedly circulated to take over the presidency of a national unity government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The US embassy in Libya said that Ambassador Richard Norland made contacts Sunday and Monday with Libyan personalities and political officials to “assess the progress made” regarding the activation of the ceasefire and the resumption of oil production in Libya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Islamic State terrorist group likely will launch an attack on Italy within weeks, not months, according to a senior Libyan government official.<\/p>\n

Aref Ali Nayed<\/strong>, Libya\u2019s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, said in an interview that one likely method of attack would be to use stolen Libyan airliners now believed to be in the hands of Islamists in Libya.<\/p>\n\n\n
