Yesterday, Monday, the head of Ihya Libya, Aref Nayed, called for the appointment of a new envoy to Libya and the restructuring of the United Nations mission to become a mission to conduct and support the elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, Nayed stressed that both the reconciliation government and the Libyan House of Representatives can enthusiastic elections in the areas under their control, explaining that the United Nations, the European Union, the African Union, and the League of Arab States can provide the necessary guarantees to ensure the integrity of the elections and the implementation of Their results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Islamic State terrorist group likely will launch an attack on Italy within weeks, not months, according to a senior Libyan government official.<\/p>\n

Aref Ali Nayed<\/strong>, Libya\u2019s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, said in an interview that one likely method of attack would be to use stolen Libyan airliners now believed to be in the hands of Islamists in Libya.<\/p>\n\n\n
