The Chairman of the Libya Institute for <\/em>Advanced Studies, Dr Aref Nayed said that the problem of legitimacy in Libya can only be solved through the democratic path and a return to the people through the ballot box, stressing the need to create a constitutional base that allows elections to take place next December according to the Paris Agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr Nayed spoke in an exclusive interview with Al-Ain News newspaper, about the deterioration of the security situation in Tripoli, referring to the most important reasons that led to the clashes, due to the failure to implement the security arrangements in the political agreement, and the control of armed groups in the capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Islamic State terrorist group likely will launch an attack on Italy within weeks, not months, according to a senior Libyan government official.<\/p>\n

Aref Ali Nayed<\/strong>, Libya\u2019s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, said in an interview that one likely method of attack would be to use stolen Libyan airliners now believed to be in the hands of Islamists in Libya.<\/p>\n\n\n
