The head of the Libya Academy for Advanced Studies, Aref Nayed, met today in Cairo with the UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, and his deputy, Stephanie Williams, to discuss the latest developments in the Libyan file with its various tracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nayed, during the meeting, handed the UN envoy official copies of the last two open letters that the Libya Academy for Advanced Studies had addressed to him during the past weeks, warning against the Sarraj and Erdogan agreements and confirming their invalidity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also noted the need to end the acquisition of power by Al-Sarraj and his government and Libya’s financial capabilities by the end of the fourth year of his rule by the seventeenth of December two thousand and nineteen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Islamic State terrorist group likely will launch an attack on Italy within weeks, not months, according to a senior Libyan government official.<\/p>\n

Aref Ali Nayed<\/strong>, Libya\u2019s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, said in an interview that one likely method of attack would be to use stolen Libyan airliners now believed to be in the hands of Islamists in Libya.<\/p>\n\n\n
