Tripoli – The amendment of the political agreement signed in the Moroccan city of Skhirat in December 2015 concerns all political parties in Libya. During his first briefing to the Security Council last week, the UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame announced his intention to make an amendment to the political agreement within the next few days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Most of those I interviewed raised ideas about amending the political agreement,” he said. A consensus is emerging, and I hope that I can announce some action in the coming days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Islamic State terrorist group likely will launch an attack on Italy within weeks, not months, according to a senior Libyan government official.<\/p>\n

Aref Ali Nayed<\/strong>, Libya\u2019s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, said in an interview that one likely method of attack would be to use stolen Libyan airliners now believed to be in the hands of Islamists in Libya.<\/p>\n\n\n
