The competition for the presidency of the Libyan state has entered a new stage in the important electoral period that the ordinary citizen in the country awaits, after an armed conflict that has lasted for years between Libyan parties, in addition to regional and international interference in the internal affairs of Libya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The upcoming Libyan presidential elections are a unique historical event because it is the first time that presidential elections will be organized in the history of Libya, and the desire of some personalities who have a popular, regional and international presence in recent years since the outbreak of the February 17 events that led to the fall of the Gaddafi regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Islamic State terrorist group likely will launch an attack on Italy within weeks, not months, according to a senior Libyan government official.<\/p>\n

Aref Ali Nayed<\/strong>, Libya\u2019s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, said in an interview that one likely method of attack would be to use stolen Libyan airliners now believed to be in the hands of Islamists in Libya.<\/p>\n\n\n
