GENEVA – A dialogue between more than fifty “high-ranking” Libyan political and tribal figures was launched Monday in Geneva, Switzerland, under the auspices of the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue in Geneva, and will continue until February 14th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Al Arab” has seen a leaked list of the personalities who have been invited to attend this dialogue. The list included important names such as the Speaker of Parliament, Aqeelah Saleh, the President of the outgoing National Congress, Nouri Abu Shameen, and the President of the Supreme Council of State, Abdul Rahman Al-Swehli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Islamic State terrorist group likely will launch an attack on Italy within weeks, not months, according to a senior Libyan government official.<\/p>\n

Aref Ali Nayed<\/strong>, Libya\u2019s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, said in an interview that one likely method of attack would be to use stolen Libyan airliners now believed to be in the hands of Islamists in Libya.<\/p>\n\n\n
