President of Ihya Libya: The Brotherhood’s Obsession with Seizing Power Threatens Morocco’s Negotiations

05/10/2020

Dr. Aref Nayed, head of the Ihya Libya, said that the Libyan negotiations in Morocco are suffering from a deep structural problem that is the reason for their impediment until now, and may lead to their complete collapse, which is the strange obsession of the Brotherhood to take over everything, beginning with the acquisition of the Council of State itself. Rather, the power to legislate.

Nayed added in his interview with “Libya News 24 Agency”, that according to the “Skhirat Agreement”, the State Council should be a consultative council only, and not crowding out the House of Representatives as it is the legitimate legislative authority in Libya, adding that the State Council should have consisted of all representatives elected in 2012 to the General National Congress.
