United & Open
I see a united and open Libya that is a unified and proud nation with common goals, a shared heritage, national pride, and a commitment to stability; a Libya where we embrace our mix of cultures, customs, languages, and traditions.
I see a Libya that revives its tradition of openness to the world to forge international partnerships for progress and prosperity.
I see a united Libya which celebrates all cities, towns, villages, and tribes. A Libya that embraces traditional Islamic values, honors the achievements of the past and accommodates the opportunities presented by the future. The changes in 2011 did not occur to benefit a handful of people but to benefit all Libyans. I see a Libya where we develop and empower all our citizens to build a united and inclusive nation with a sense of common and shared identity and destiny.
I see a Libya that refrains from wrongly framing the nation’s challenges that we must overcome together in divisive religious terms. A Libya focused on instilling positive values in our youth to form the foundation for an integrated, peaceful society with loyalty and dedication to the future of our nation.
I see an open Libya that rebuilds cooperative relationships with the global community. A Libya that revives our long tradition of productive engagement with other countries and cultures. We must forge partnerships to develop economic opportunities that transcend Libya’s boundaries.
We must engage in international and intercultural dialogue that can help us galvanize action that prevents isolationism and extremism. We must work with international organizations to contribute to international economic development, peace and security, combatting transnational crime, and addressing global environmental change. I see a country that welcomes Libyans living abroad to contribute their skill sets towards the reconstruction efforts of the country and help in rebuilding our national identity.
