The head of Ihya Libya, Dr. Aref Nayed, called on the United Nations to stand firmly and effectively with the Libyan people in their demands, which stem from the heart of the suffering, for their rights and freedoms, to put an end to corruption throughout Libya, and to reject in the strongest possible terms the violent suppression of peaceful civil demonstrations and condemn it.
In a letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, today, Monday, Nayed called for the need to protect all Libyan civilians in all parts of Libya in accordance with UN Security Council Resolutions 1970 and 1973, and what is stipulated in the United Nations Charter, stressing the need not to allow ministers or any political actors Others exploit legitimate popular protest against the absence of basic services to carry out a destabilizing coup or to ignite civil strife anywhere in Libya.
