Conflicting Efforts to Use the Clashes in Tripoli to Serve Political Agendas

03/09/2018

Tripoli – The conflicting political parties in Libya and the regional and international powers supporting them are striving to exploit the clashes taking place in the capital, Tripoli, between militias to serve their contradictory agendas.

After the representatives of the supporters of the reconciliation government and the State Council demanded the formation of a new government and presidential council, which would mean prolonging the life of the Skhirat agreement, Aref Nayed, head of the “Libya Revival” project, called for the need to elect an interim president for the country on December 10, the date set by the Paris Agreement for legislative and presidential elections.
