The European Union is Pushing for Elections in Libya this Year

Tripoli – The European Union is pushing for presidential and legislative elections in Libya, which is reflected in its decision to grant 5 million euros to support the electoral process in the country.

On Wednesday, the European Union announced a financial contribution of 5 million euros to strengthen electoral capabilities in Libya.

The European Union Mission to Tripoli said, on its Facebook page, that its head, Buthina Musheidt, signed an agreement with the Director of the United Nations Development Program in Libya, Sultan Hajiyev, in Tunisia, whereby the Union pledged to provide 5 million euros to support the UN project to hold the Libyan elections.
