The Chairman of the Libya Institute for Advanced Studies, Dr Aref Nayed confirmed in an interview with the German News Agency that Libyans are ready to hold presidential elections this year, stressing that there are great chances for the success of the UN proposal to hold these elections next September.
Nayed said that with the erosion of the legitimacy of most of the current authorities and the desire to end the suffering that has been going on for seven years, most Libyans are in favor of holding elections at all levels, presidential, legislative and municipal, stressing the need not to believe what is reported that Libyans are not ready for these elections.
