Benghazi (Libya) – Medics and military officials said that a suicide bomber detonated a car bomb in the eastern city of Benghazi today, killing two and wounding about 20 people.
Military officials said the car bomb exploded while it was heading towards a military tank base and an ammunition depot, and it appeared to have detonated early before reaching the base. Medics said the explosion killed a man and a child.
Fadl al-Hassi, a senior commander of the Special Forces, said he was a “suicide bomber.”
