US Ambassador and Special Envoy, Richard Norland, and Presidential candidate and Chairman of Ihya Libya (Reviving Libya), Dr. Aref Nayed, held a virtual meeting on Thursday.
They discussed the latest developments in Libya, the importance of clean, transparent, and fair revenue management and the resumption of oil production—in a way that benefits all Libyans and the global economy—and which must remain an important component of any interim governance, and that an urgent date is set for Presidential and Parliamentary elections. They agreed on the importance of promoting the free exchange of ideas and competing visions for the future of Libya in preparation and readiness for elections.
