The head of the Libya Academy for Advanced Studies, Dr. Aref Ali Nayed, began his visit to the Vatican and Italy, with a speech at the opening session of the international conference, held under the slogan: hatred of the other, racism, and populist extremism in the global context of migration, organized by the specialized bodies in the Vatican and the World Council of Churches In Geneva, with the participation of academics, scholars, politicians and specialists in the study of religions, from all parts of the world.
Nayed urged the Vatican and all churches to address European governments, including the Italian ones, to reverse their wrong policies and measures against Libya and the African human being, which lead to overstretching Libya with the responsibility to protect and care for hundreds of thousands of Africans, in very difficult conditions of instability, lack of resources and capabilities, And lead to the drowning and seizure of huge numbers of people aspiring to a better future.
