Dr. Aref Nayed, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libya Academy for Advanced Studies, sent a letter to Dr. Ghassan Salame, the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General to Libya.
Nayed warned in his letter against implicating Libya in agreements with Turkey, and demanded the withdrawal of recognition from the Sarraj Council
Nayed presented, in his message, a proposal in which he called for serious and urgent consideration of withdrawing the UN recognition of the Presidency Council and its government before he implicated Libya and the Libyans in more invalid agreements and understandings with Turkey and others. For many reasons, the most important of which are the following:
Not elected, and not chosen by an elected body and does not embody the will of the people, which is the basis of legitimacy.
