Libya Agrees to Hold General Elections Despite Britain’s Warning

26/08/2017

Tripoli – The various parties to the conflict in Libya agree on the necessity of early general elections as a solution to extricate the country from the state of political division that it has been suffering from for three years, in light of the failure of all attempts to unify the state apparatus through negotiations, which is rejected by Britain.

The advisor to the Speaker of Parliament, Abdullah Athamneh, considered that the country will not have a consensual solution through negotiations in the short term, stressing that the solution is to go to early elections.
