Accusations of Islamists Fabricating the Libyan Economic Crisis

30/01/2018

Tripoli – The former Libyan ambassador to the UAE, Aref Nayed, accused what he described as “ideological groups”, referring to the political Islam movement, of fabricating the economic crisis that Libya has been experiencing since the fall of the regime of the late Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, and it deepened after the political division in the country in 2014.

Nayed’s accusations came in a blog post on his official Facebook page against the background of the collapse of the value of the US dollar against the Libyan dinar on the black market, as the dollar fell against the dinar to its lowest level during the past week, reaching 4 dinars after it exceeded 10 dinars last December.
