Following the recent clashes in the capital, the Libyan tribes have established a successful role in uniting the parties and providing practical steps to restore stability to the country, which has been exhausted by the effects of war and political divisions since February 2011. In his dialogue with the “Arab tribes”, Aref Nayed, a former diplomat and Libyan businessman revealed a major move by the Social Council to organise the largest meeting of Libyan tribes and cities in the country’s history aimed at activating a comprehensive national reconciliation, after the council’s recent success in achieving reconciliation between Tripoli and Tarhuna.
