The Sons of Libya group called on the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, to consider withdrawing the UN recognition of the Presidency Council and its government.
The group, which held 37 signatures from intellectuals, political activists and media figures, said that it is time for the United Nations to apply international standards for the recognition of the executive powers of states to the Presidency Council and its government, and to respect the Constitutional Declaration and the rulings of the Libyan courts, noting that the continued recognition by the United Nations of the presidency will set them.
