Tensioning and putting the stick in the wheel are the next measures to disrupt the next step of the Libyans, which is to hold comprehensive and agreed-upon elections to rid Libya of the political stalemate and economic deterioration that has been devastating the country for years.

In the latest news, parties claiming to represent political Islam have pushed towards postponing the elections scheduled to take place in Libya during this year, in agreement with the Government of National Accord headed by Fayez al-Sarraj, and those who believe that the step to disrupt the elections through the referendum on the constitution will serve Libya, but the inevitable result, as politicians see, is to increase the breach of the patch and will not Libya gets rid of all this disruption.

The United Nations and the Arab League supported the Libyans ’move towards elections this year as a last resort to end the stormy political division in the country for nearly four years.

The envoy of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States to Libya, Salah al-Jamali, affirmed that the League supports the UN initiative, and that the best solution for the Libyan people is to hold elections as soon as possible, and that these elections should not be hostage to the constitution or anything else, and they must go to the polls because they are the solution. optimum.

In press statements, he noted that there are previous Libyan constitutions that can be used, and the internationally recognized political agreement until the draft constitution submitted by the commission is agreed upon, and thus we do not make the current disagreement over the draft a reason to disrupt the political process in Libya.

Most Libyans want Libya to return to unity and for elections to take place in it, like other countries, especially since since the February 17th revolution, it has been taking place in the orbit of division and fragmentation, and the money that could have been spent on development and the people was wasted.

The Arab League’s statements came after the United Nations’s invitation a few days ago through its envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame before the Security Council, in which he renewed the mission’s adherence to holding elections during the current year. He previously announced a plan consisting of three main stages, beginning with amending the political agreement to allow the unification of the executive authority and launching A reconciliation conference, then issuing the constitution and holding elections.

After the Libyan parties failed to reach a compromise formula regarding amending the political agreement, he stressed that elections will take place whether or not the executive authority is consolidated, and his position was locally welcomed by the political parties supporting the holding of elections during this year.

Candidate for the presidential elections, Aref Nayed, welcomed the renewal of the integrity of the United Nations’s commitment to holding presidential and parliamentary elections in 2018, saying I call on the international community, especially members of the Security Council, the African Union and the League of Arab States to support the Libyan people to say their word through the ballot box.

Nayed had announced his readiness to run for the upcoming presidential elections, indicating that he had prepared a vision and a work program that he had developed in cooperation with a working group of young people to extricate Libya from its current crisis.

He pointed out that the apparent procrastination only serves dark gangs, brute force and corrupt money, referring to the political Islam trend, pointing out that there is no way to save the country except by hearing the voice of the people in managing their affairs through fair, transparent and protected elections in their implementation and the implementation of their results from the United Nations in the Council Its security, the African Union and the League of Arab States.
